December 12, 2024: Lead in cookware

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a letter to businesses that distribute and sell imported cookware that some products can leach lead into food. The cookware is made from various metals including brass, aluminum, and aluminum alloys known as Hindalium/Hindolium or Indalium/Indolium.

If consumers believe that they have eaten food cooked using these products or have symptoms of lead exposure, they should contact their health provider.
