Histoplasmosis
Histoplasmosis
Histoplasmosis is an infectious disease caused by inhaling spores of a fungus called Histoplasma capsulatum; usually in association with bird or bat droppings. The symptoms of histoplasmosis are similar to pneumonia, and the infection can become serious if not treated, especially if the disease spreads from the lungs to other organs.
