Anaplasmosis
Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne disease caused by bacteria. It is primarily spread by ticks in the northeastern and upper midwestern regions of the U.S. The symptoms usually include fever, muscle aches, chills, headache, nausea, and vomiting. People with more severe illness may have respiratory failure, bleeding problems, and organ failure. Symptoms typically begin within 1-2 weeks after the bite of an infected tick. It may be fatal, but this is extremely rare.
